Student & Parent/Guardian signature below indicates that both student & parent/guardian understand and agree to the following conditions and terms of use:
We understand that all equipment loaned to a BCSD student remains the property of Brunswick City Schools.
The student’s right to use and possess the property terminates not later than the last day of the school year unless earlier terminated by the District or upon withdrawal from the District.
We agree to return this equipment (including charger) in good working order with all components intact when requested.
We agree to return this equipment for scheduled maintenance at the request of the Brunswick City Schools Technology Department.
If we do not fully comply with the terms of this agreement and the Student Acceptable Use Policy, including the timely return of the property, the District shall be entitled to declare us in default and repossess the property or, if unable to repossess the property, charge us the replacement cost.
We understand that this equipment is loaned to a BCSD student for educational purposes and the student will limit the use of this equipment to those purposes and will not sub-loan the Chromebook to others, including family members.
We agree to use this equipment in keeping with all applicable district policies (e.g., acceptable use, email, copyright, plagiarism, web publishing, social media etc.) as well as state and federal laws pertaining to copyright and fair use.
We understand that BCSD maintains Google Applications (G-Suite) and students are to log into the device with their district issued Google credentials ONLY.
We understand that charges incurred from accessing the Internet and/or web-based services are the responsibility of the student/guardian and are not recoverable from the district.
We understand that student/guardian is personally responsible and financially liable for all equipment damage and/or loss of equipment.
We understand that the district offers yearly optional insurance for $30 that covers two repairs or one device loss/destruction per school year.
Student will alert a teacher of a problem with a device as soon as it occurs and will not try to repair the device on his/her own. The student will take his/her device to the school's Media Center if a problem occurs. The Media Center paraprofessional will issue the student a loaner device to be used at school. Middle school students/parents should take their devices to Brunswick Middle School. High school students/parents should take their devices to the high school student center (outside door between the two flagpoles in front of the building).
Loaner devices are to be used at school only and cannot be taken home (except during remote learning).
