Brunswick technology resources include, but are not limited to: computers, file servers, laptops, software, e-mail, video equipment, AV equipment, digital cameras, scanners, local network, wide area network and other ancillary equipment. These resources are BCSD property purchased with public funds or grant money and are intended to enhance the delivery of instruction and to conduct necessary school business.

This policy defines acceptable use of technology resources, electronic mail & communication, and internet use (including Web 2.0 tools).

Technology resources and assigned network access, internet access and email access are tools provided to school employees to assist in the performance of their job responsibilities and are expected to be treated accordingly. Users of the district system will follow the BCSD Acceptable Use Policy and understand clearly that such use is a privilege and not a right, such that the district reserves the right to hold users accountable for misuse of the system, including taking disciplinary action or revoking a user’s privilege. There should be NO EXPECTATION of privacy by students and staff using district technology. The district will have access to all user accounts including data created, and will review/monitor technology use as necessary to maintain system integrity and ensure responsible technology use. Any employee that violates this policy, or allows others to do so (by divulging his/her password) may have his/her user access privileges revoked and shall be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Any employee who is licensed by the State Board of Education may be subject to disciplinary action by the State Board for any use of technology that constitutes unprofessional conduct under the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators (adopted March 11, 2008 - http://education.ohio.gov/
GD/Templates/Pages/ODE/ODEDetail.aspx?Page=3&TopicRelationID=520&Content=81543). Each employee must sign a form to acknowledge he/she has read, understands and will comply with Brunswick City School’s Acceptable Use Policy. These forms will be kept on file by the district as legal binding documents.
